Dress Code

Training clinics & Rallies
Beige, black or navy jodhpurs must be worn, ESPC polo shirts (long sleeves are advised for XC) with an ESPC sweatshirt if necessary - no hoodies allowed. Coats (if needed) should be dark coloured WITH NO HOOD. Hat silks should be plain black or navy blue (orange hat silks may be worn for XC).
Tests and Mocks
Beige jodhpurs, white shirt with PC tie/stock and hacking jacket (or black/navy show jacket) with PC Badge and current Felt must be worn. Hat silks should be plain black or navy blue.
Hats
It is mandatory for all Members to wear a protective hat at all times when mounted with a chinstrap fastened. For all XC riding (inc. Eventing, TET, Horse Trials), Pony Racing and Mounted Games - whether
it be training, rallies or competitions - a jockey skull cap must be worn with NO FIXED PEAK. A removable hat silk may be worn. Please refer to the official PC Hat Rule (link below) for current standards. 
Hats should be tagged with the current pink PC hat tag when a new hat is purchased and for new members. Hat tags are compulsory and will be checked when attending any PC training, events and competitions. Please contact Clare Bassett to book a hat check, these can be carried out at rallies. Body Protectors
The use of a body protector is compulsory for ALL XC riding and Pony Racing whether it be training or competing. Please refer to the official PC Body Protector Rule (link below) for current standards. Click HERE to view to Pony Club Body Protector Rules.
Riders
Hair In the interests of safety, long hair must be tied up securely in a bun to reduce the risk of hair being caught and to prevent scalp injuries.
Jewellery is not recommended. The wearing of any sort of jewellery is at the member/parent/guardian own risk. However to stop any risk of injury, necklaces and bracelets (other than medical) must be removed.
Saddlery
Only saddlery permitted in the official Pony Club Rule Books may be used at both Rallies and training activities relating to that sport and must be black or brown. Saddlery should fit well, be clean and fit for purpose - stitching should be checked regularly. 
Humane Girths are not permitted at training or competitions (single buckle attachment).
Saddle Cloths must be plain black, brown, white, navy or ESPC logo. Team colours displaying ESPC's branch logo should be worn for Inter Branch Competitions, Area’s and above.
Stirrup Irons must have 7mm (¼”) clearance on either side of the boot. Click HERE to view the Pony Club Stirrup Rules.
Bits must adhere to the individual Sport Rule Book for each sport - please refer to current Sport Rule Books (link below) for guidance.
Competition Requirements
Jodhpurs should be beige or cream (black seat contrast is acceptable). White is permitted for some competitions only.
Boots must be standard riding or jodhpur boots in black or brown leather with a well defined square heel and fairly smooth sole. Boots that connect to the stirrup are not allowed. Gaiters/chaps should be plain and match boot colour.
Shirts should be white with a collar. When attending Mounted Games competitions and XC events long sleeves should be worn.
Ties & Stocks must be in Pony Club 
colours.
Gloves must be worn for Dressage, they should be light coloured. Gloves are also recommended for Show Jumping and Cross Country.
Plaiting Ponies/horses MUST be plaited for Tests, Dressage competitions (inc. ODEs), Area SJ competitions and above.
